During the day we trained legs, without any problem. Jon performed great and there are so many more dimensions to this discussion. Someday we might have the opportunity to meet and have that discussion face to face.
Best regards

With squats and deadlifts you can just about kill anybody so they will barely be able to talk afterwards.
If an athlete with reasonable conditioning can't perform two pushups in a row after the programm - what does that tell you? You fried him and prolonged his recovery time bigtime. Period. Will he be able to perform tomorrow if you put him through the same exercises as yesterday? I seriously doubt it.
Just some mindfood,...
Cheers

All other main training was performed within both form and whitout me pushing Jon over the edge The challenge was for fun and lasted 15 seconds.. that differs alot in my honest opinion toward chasing every set to failure.
I agree on your top 3 important bulletpoints - however, there are one million more aspects on the question of what makes the different in the totalt workout and training schedule. Me and Jon had a good talkt about it yesterday during the stretching routin after the workout and great mind thinks the same :)
Best regards

never ever train to failure! If a coach pushes you to the edge that you can't do a pushup anymore, he is not a good coach! Always leave something in the tank. Trust me - I know what I'm talking about. As a matter of fact - anybody can push you to the edge. I can do it with two 1kg barbells in less than 45min. No problem. THAT is not a sign of good coaching. There are three rules you should always obey to:
a) Health is everything - without health you're nothing. Therefore train smart!
b) Form is king. If you start losing form - stop.
c) Never, ever train to failure. Your body'll thank you for that.Train hard and intense, obey the rules and you'll become a beast. And get off of those machines and hit the real weights. Machines are there for people who train without form and don't have the discipline.

I might sound bitter but I think you need to give skiing your full focus, which doesn't seem to be the case! Sounds really harsh but I think you can succeed, just eliminate some bad habits and you will go all the way!GO GO GO!Br
