As expected today was tough with a high number, when I looked through the results over the past 10 years a few days I dont think I saw a single race where the highest bib that made the second run was as low as bib nr 34 which was the highest bib today!
I am however super happy with my own performance even if it ended when I strattled a gate and tweaked my ankle at the end of the course, but today I did what I had set out to do, which was to go out there and push as hard as I could and try to learn as much as possible. I am not sure what happened when I strattled, I felt fine and all of a sudden I think my ski hit a rut and bumped up on the wrong side of the gate and I got caught, spun around but luckily my ski released! I was 42nd at the last split which is 15 places better than my start nr and to be honest I am super happy with that as not many people were able to move up in the field today! So its great to get a confirmation that I am moving in the right direction!
In the past I have finished WC races and felt super bad as I did not push myself as much as I should have done. Right now I am in bed with a taped up ankle and some ice still feeling super excited about the day. It was a tough one but I really feel that I made the most of it!
Now the only question is how long I will be out due to the ankle but I am hoping its only for a few days as I am exited to get back to training, but I guess our film trip to Marbella will be great to keep my busy anyway. Will tell you more about that soon, but I can say that I am about to check of one my boxes at my "bucket list" so I think its going to be a great week! Oh and the car pics will go online in a couple of hours when I am done with my ankle examination!
