So yesterday did not really turn out the way I planned! ![]()
First I almost missed my Nice-Zurich flight as the taxi showed up 25 min late. Then I was rejected to rent a car at Avis they did not think my Monaco drivers licence was real. So I jumped on a train towards Bregenz and the Head factory. Once I got there I realized that I had confirmed the wrong day so no one was ready for me. We worked it out and built a kick ass boot!
Decided that it would be a horrible plan to take the train back to Zurich and sleep there to fly to Stuttgart the next morning so canelled that flight. Jumped on a train to Stuttgart (so I thought) turnes out the one I was on would get to Stuttgart at 3 in the morning with 6 stops.
I looked at the other trains at the station and saw one straight to Munich, that was at least the right country. Much better than 6 stops.
Got to Munich at 11pm and was so psyked to get a hotel and finally get some rest (did not have time to eat all day). Turns out they were all booked. The 12th hotel I tried had a room. This was after walking through the "red light district" with ski boots on my shoulder.
So that was a bit of an adventure! Right now I am on a train again and I think I should arrive in Stuttgart pretty soon.
Time to leave the train and jump in the R8! But I have to say that if you are traveling light, train really kicks some serious ass!!! ![]()

Hey Jon!
don’t you liked hectic journeys?? haha Jon Olsson style 100%
have a great day! (and get some rest)
Gonzalo.
despite all your troubles you have time for your fans! thats nice
Ditt kära amex mannen, de löser det mesta där dygnet runt!
Exactly, Did you show the guys at avis and the hotels your Amex black? Situations like these must be the reason to have it?
I guess you have to be more careful showing it i the red light district though…
*rofl* Yes, that’s quite an adventure…! But at ZRH airport we have more than one car rental company… So why didn’t you just take another one…? And concerning the hotel in MUC you should maybe have looked at http://www.booking.com and searched there before showing up in the hotels.
But it surely was funny for the people there to see you walking around with ski boots…
I hope you arrived well in Stuttgart without delays or re-routing of the train? Cause that’s what happens often to me when I take trains in Germany…
Greetings from sunny and warm Andalucía…
HAHAHAHAHA ödet min vän… ödet
Hey Jon,
)
Next Time you’re in problems in/near Bregenz blog it earlier. Maybe i could have helped you to get to Stuttgart or to Zürich faster
(I live half an hour to Bregenz
I hope you brought your car keys for the Razor….
Hei Jon,
when you are arriving in Stuttgart ?
I can show you some nice Places with a great view over Stuttgart!
And some places to push the pedal to the Metal !
Btw next time ur in this kind of difficulties, jus call the 24h AMEX Centurion services and they’ll help you out immediately!;)
I was also surprised, why complicate things when you have an amex “black card”?
ye what happen to that card. would think they would give you a sports car for rent if you show that card
Train does kick ass, especially french high-speed trains who are running at 300km/h… Wanna race from Paris to Nice in 5h38 ?
(I know Top Gear challenges always say that it’s faster in cars but…)
